Lacey Elks Special Children’s Event List for Calendar Year 2023

. April 1st: Zoo Show attended by 166 children and family members overseen by myself and 24 committee members who set up the room and assisted throughout the show. Lunch, drinks, and dessert were supplied. Each child received an animal figurine.
. June 2nd: “Grounds for Sculpture” field trip for Lacey School students. Accommodation for 25 children and 18 chaperones.
. June-August: Summer Calendar Raffle: $1000.00 drawing on the last Saturday of each month. Cost per ticket $10.00 (1,000 tickets to be sold).
. July 15th : Annual Charity Ball (Back to the 70’s Theme). Tickets will be $50.00 pp (seating capacity 250). The evening will consist of dinner, beverages, and dessert. Entertainment will be provided by David Christophers Band. There will be a gift auction, a 50/50 drawing, and a costume contest.
. October ?: Field trip to Allaire Farms for pumpkin picking, petting zoo and hayride for Lacey High School students.
. October 14th: Yearly Halloween Party. Lunch, drinks, and dessert will be supplied for all that attend. We supply pumpkins for every child, face painting, crafts, and a balloon professional creating novelties for the kids.
. October-December: Winter calendar raffle: $1000.00 drawing on the last Saturday of each month. Cost per ticket $10.00 (1,000 tickets to be sold).
. December 9th: SNC Christmas Party. Lunch, drinks, and dessert will be supplied. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will present each child with a gift. There will be crafts and face painting. Each child will receive a free raffle ticket to win a prize of their choice (every raffle result in a prize). In addition, each child picks a stuffed animal and receives an adoption paper with the pet’s name and their name. Also, pictures can be taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
. 2024 February?: Night to Shine Dinner Dance. This is a Tim Tebow event. Attendees come from all around New Jersey. Each Special Needs person is accommodated by his/her “Buddy” for the night. The night consists of makeovers, and corsages for the girls, shoeshines, and buttoners for the boys. All special need attendees will experience a limousine ride, a walk down the red carpet, photographs, dinner, and dancing. The night attendance totals 150 special needs, 150 buddies, and 100 miscellaneous volunteers.
We wanted to share this photo with you. It was taken on August 9th at Captains Inn and shows the SCC (Special Children Committee). We organized this event as a way of thanking them for all their hard work and support throughout the year.
